ST. MATTHEW’S ANGLICAN CHURCH St. Matthew's Exists - To fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ: The great commandment Matthew 22:37-39 "And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord Your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, You shall Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37-39 The great commission Matthew 28:18-20 "And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded to you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20
Our five purposes as a congregation are to:
D - Disciples of Jesus Christ, who make disciples I - Inspirational Worship Glorifying God in Spirit, Sacraments, and Scripture S- Scripturally based ministry directed by Holy Scriptures and enriched by our Anglican tradition C - Classical Anglican Christianity faithful to the creeds, catechism and common prayer of the faith once delivered I - Intentional love showing compassion of Jesus to the world P - Prayer as a foundational to all we do in the life of the Church L - Leadership development of servant leaders grown in Christian maturity and strength to minister to the community in order to fulfill the Great Commission E - Evangelizing the pre-Christian and Lapsed Christians to Jesus Christ and His Church S - Small group ministry focused on fulfilling the Great Commission to make disciples of Jesus Christ H - Holy Spirit Empowered living in the transforming power of the Gospel I - Intimate relationship with Jesus Christ the unique and exclusive Son of God P - Pass on the blessing of all our resources of Time Talents and Treasures |
